Pregnant again!
That's right! For anyone who hasn't heard via facebook, I'm expecting again! I'm due May 12, 2011, and I'm currently nine weeks pregnant (as of today!).Read more »
Wrapstar Carrier!
The Wrapstar is AWESOME. My first Mei Tai, and I got two successful back carries today! (Plus 3 front carries!)
On a side note, I HATE customs. We had to pay the equivalent of $50 just to pick it up from the post office...I could have bought another carrier for that amount- yikes!Read more »
Our Trip to Joburg
Well, it's been a couple weeks since we got back from our trip to Johannesburg, but after much urging, cajoling, etc (as usual- I'm no blogger) from Raoul I'm only blogging about it now.Read more »
Latest pregnancy news
This past Tuesday I had my first appointment with the midwife. I was very excited for the appointment, as it makes things feel a bit more real to get antenatal care started and start planning for the birth and everything. I was also really happy to meet Susan and Ciska, the midwives. This appointment was with Susan, but my next appointment should be with Ciska, who I've had phone contact with since my pregnancy test in December. Both of them should be at the birth unless something comes up (like another woman being in labour at the same time).Read more »
Long Overdue Update: We're Pregnant!
Well, it's long overdue, but for those who don't know, Hannah is pregnant. At this stage she's about 7 weeks along, and the baby is due on the 10th of August. It's too early to tell whether or not it's a boy or a girl, but we're going to wait until junior is born to find out. Call me old-fashioned, I don't care!
To be honest, it's a little unexpected, but Hannah and I are thoroughly excited. Hannah has been going on about babies since before we got married, so now she's as happy as a pig in the mud.
Not much more news though...Read more »
Hannah's got a job!
That's right, I've got a job! I'm the content manager and an administrator of the City Partnership website: http://citypartnership.org.za/
The City Partnership is a ministry to business people. Raoul put together their site for them, and I was offered the job of uploading content every week. I'm being paid a small retainer each month- nothing huge, but it's something, and it's tax-free!
It's quite easy work, and of course it's nice to be able to work when I want and still be at home so I can get dinner in the oven and take care of things here.
Six Months
Well, Raoul and I have now been married for over 6 months, as of the 29th of March! We didn't do anything particularly special on the day because finances are tight for the month, but we're going to have a nice dinner at a very nice italian restaurant at the end of this month to celebrate.Read more »
Family Matters
Well, the cats are finally getting along with each other. Merlo, of course, was never the problem, being the new addition and a kitten at that. Keena, on the other hand, needed to adapt to having another cat in the house.Read more »
The Honeymoon
Raoul and I made a deal- he'd post about the wedding, and I'd post about the honeymoon. I still think he took the easy way out by referring to the pictures, but I suppose I can't complain because I'd gladly take the same opportunity. However, since it will be a while until we have the honeymoon pictures up on the site, I'll have to take the long way around. Read more »
The Happiest Day Of My Life
Now, I have to start off by saying that I don't know why it's called the happiest day of your life, because my wedding day wasn't. I was too busy making sure everything was going to be ready, and then too busy concentrating on not making any mistakes when I said my vows, etc. Having said that, however, I did enjoy the day, and was really glad to finally be married to my wonderful wife.Read more »
